Pune continues to face a spate of house burglaries. In the latest incident, thieves broke into three flats in the same building at Saidutt Niwas, Telco Colony in Ambegaon Budruk. The burglars looted 11 tolas of gold ornaments and cash. Similar incidents were also reported from Vishrantwadi and Baner.

The Ambegaon burglary came to light on Wednesday morning. A resident filed a police complaint after returning home on April 9. His family had locked their flat and gone out on the night of April 8. When they came back, they found the door broken and the house ransacked. Rs 65,000 in cash and gold worth Rs 1.61 lakh were missing.

Two other flats in the same building were also targeted. One of the flat owners is currently abroad. The theft was noticed when neighbours saw the door open.
