The students have also been asked to submit a Google form explaining the concerns they faced while submitting their answer papers.
After raising their issues with the examination department the students are now allowed to reappear for their online examinations.
SPPU which conducted the online examinations for final year students of all the courses, for the very first time, ran into a problem when its website crashed and many students were either unable to login at the prescribed time, or unable to submit their papers. Most of the students reached out to Pune Pulse, expressing their concerns over the sudden website crash which not just troubled students from logging in but also came up with a fresh answer sheet when they tried to submit the paper and failed.

Pooja Tomar, one of the final year Msc students, who too faced a problem in submitting the answer sheet, she said, “To be honest, we didn’t expect this. Already, the pressure of facing final year exam is way too high and then technical aspects of online examinations make it worse. Website crash just made me panic and this even impacted my examination.”
Another Student, Atul Gurav, who whileb trying to submit his answer sheet the website crashed, resulting in a blank and fresh answer sheet. This problem was faced by a majority of students, and hence the students were also awaiting a response from SPPU regarding the failed submission.
SPPU has sent a clarification to Pune Pulse when the issue was raised with the concerned officials. It said, “A decision of re-examination will be taken for those students who were unable to complete their exam due to login issue or failed submission only after the verification of the problem faced by a student. The SPPU has made a Google form available on their website for those students who faced trouble in completing their exams due to website crash. Students, if they visit the website (unipune.ac.in) will see a circular popping up in yellow highlight ‘Online/offline exam query (for registered students)’. Students are supposed to fill the form so that the University can review their problem and accordingly take a decision.”
Upon reaching out to Mahesh Kakade, Director of Examination controller and evaluation said “Students need not worry. This was our first time attempt to hold an online examination. However, those students who have ran into a problem due to website crash are asked to submit the form on our website. And in further, when we will recognise their problem, we will take a decision accordingly.”
SPPU Director of Exam Controller and Evaluation told Pune Pulse that “Students will be able to login till 11 PM as a total of 66,000 students have appeared for the exams. So, students can keep patience as they have enough time to appear for exams till 11 pm today and tomorrow.”
