Storm water line laid from Jyoti chowk to NIBM road
Work for laying storm water line began two months ago from Rupee bank to Mayfair Eleganza society on Nibm road.
This stretch of road used to have water accumulation everytime when it rained. But now since the new line is laid the water accumulation would stop assured the local Corporator.
Nanda Lonkar, local Corporator Prabhag 26 said, “This stretch of road had severe water logging everytime it rained. I raised this issue with our Prabhag 25 Corporator and ex Mayor Pune Prashant Jagtap to resolve it. He visited the site and assured to resolve once rainy season is over. Now the work is done and final finishing touches are remaining. We are hopeful that henceforth citizens will not have to face any problems.”
Prabhag 25 Corporator and former mayor Prashant Jagtap said, “This stretch of road from Rupee bank to Mayfair Eleganza on Nibm road had severe water logging. The root cause of the problem was not seen. By our PMC’s drainage and storm water department officials found out the problem and have laid a new line completely. Now the problem of water logging should not arise. I have recently visited the site and seen it myself and have suggested few more changes. Within the next few days the work shall be over and the road shall be resurfaced.”
Atul Kadu, junior engineer, storm water drainage department, PMC said, “The previous lines were laid about 25 years ago and didn’t function well. With the new lines the problem of water logging should stop. Before Diwali we shall activate the line and check for its functioning.”
