A student from Hyderabad recently expressed her frustration with Zomato on X (formerly Twitter) after receiving the wrong order. Ananya was particularly puzzled by the response she got from the customer service agent when she filed a complaint.

The 19-year-old had ordered Chicken Manchurian but ended up with Chicken 65 instead. Her conversation with Zomato’s customer service, which included a somewhat humorous suggestion for her to “try it” anyway, went viral after she shared a screenshot with the caption: “average Zomato experience.” The customer service agent replied, “We request you to please have it… We are sure you will love it,” after checking with the restaurant for a few minutes.

Ananya, a second-year Computer Science Engineering student, simply replied to the odd suggestion with two question marks. Zomato quickly responded on X, saying: “Hi Ananya, we’re truly sorry for the trouble you have faced. This is not the kind of experience we ever wanted for you. Shoot us a DM with your registered phone number/order ID, and we’ll get things sorted at the earliest.” The post has since attracted over 600,000 views, 16,000 likes, and more than 250 comments, with users from across India sharing their own stories of incorrect orders and funny incidents.

Some users who weren’t familiar with Hyderabad’s popular dishes made light-hearted comments, with one saying, “Some non-Hyderabadis are curious about these dishes and don’t realize what they’re missing.” Others shared their own funny experiences, like one user who ordered a veg sandwich for a friend and a non-veg one for themselves but ended up with two non-veg sandwiches. They humorously noted that the response was, “The non-veg one is more expensive, so why complain?” While many empathized with Ananya, others joined in with their own amusing stories.
