In a dramatic accident early this morning in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area, a Kia Seltos SUV broke through a barricade, jumped onto the footpath, and crashed into the wall of a roadside shop on LBS Marg around 6:30 am. The impact left three people seriously injured and caused significant damage to the vehicle and surrounding structures.

CCTV footage from the scene revealed the aftermath, showing the damaged SUV resting on the shop’s stairs with debris and broken parts scattered across the pavement. A motorcycle lying on its side nearby was also damaged in the collision. The video showed two women and a man exiting the vehicle shortly after the crash. While the women were detained by police, the man fled the scene. Locals reported that all three occupants appeared intoxicated, a claim supported by the discovery of multiple alcohol bottles inside the car.

Witnesses described a chilling moment as the car struck a man who was asleep on the pavement, leaving him in a critical condition. After the crash, one of the women checked on the injured man while the other occupants, including the male friend, showed signs of distress. The male occupant later left the area in an autorickshaw, while the two women were taken into police custody.
