Tata Motors Unveils Curvv.ev at Rs 17.49 Lakh: New Electric SUV Set to Rival Hyundai Creta EV
Tata Motors has launched the Curvv.ev, a new electric vehicle priced at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), aiming to set a new standard in the mid-size electric SUV segment. Positioned above the Nexon.ev, the Curvv.ev is designed to compete with upcoming models like the Hyundai Creta EV.
The Curvv.ev features impressive specifications including quick charging capabilities, rapid acceleration, and extensive storage space. It can charge from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes, with a 15-minute charge providing a range of 150 kilometers. Higher variants offer a claimed driving range of up to 585 kilometers. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and includes safety features like six airbags and a 450mm water-wading capacity. All variants come with a Hill Hold feature.

The Curvv.ev offers substantial storage with a 500-liter boot space and an additional front trunk. It is equipped with 215/55 R18 wheels and has a ground clearance of 190mm. The car maintains a 50:50 weight distribution and a lower center of gravity by 60mm, enhancing stability and control. The vehicle’s reinforced body structure aims for a BNCAP 5-star rating, with advanced high-strength steel making up 13% of the body-in-white (BIW) and high-strength steel comprising 39% by weight. This results in over 45% higher torsional stiffness compared to typical mid-size SUVs.
The Curvv.ev also addresses ecosystem-related drawbacks by introducing an expansive charging network and a new application to track charger locations, range, and other vehicle features. Tata Motors has launched Tata.ev Originals, a range of accessories for Tata EVs, which can also be financed during purchase. These accessories will also be available for the internal combustion engine (ICE) variants, with their prices set to be announced on September 2.
With the introduction of the Curvv.ev, Tata Motors aims to create a new segment in the Indian automotive market, offering a blend of performance, safety, and convenience features designed to meet the demands of modern electric vehicle users.
