Tatkaal Special Passport Drive In Pune On July 19
Pune, July 17, 2025: The Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), Pune, will conduct a Tatkaal Special Passport Drive on Saturday, July 19, 2025, as part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ initiative to make passport appointments available at earlier dates for applicants requiring urgent processing.
The Tatkaal scheme, however, comes with stricter eligibility criteria and additional documentation requirements, leading to many applicants failing to submit their applications successfully in the past. Authorities have urged citizens to carefully read the Tatkaal Advisory and Undertaking to ensure they are fully prepared for their appointment.
Mandatory Documents for Tatkaal Applicants
Applicants must carry original copies of the following documents:
- QR Code Birth Certificate mentioning Aadhaar number
- Class 10 (Matriculation) Passing Certificate
- Passport (if previously issued)
- Latest complete eAadhaar with scannable QR code
- PAN Card with hologram
- Voter ID with hologram sticker
- Driving Licence
- Marriage Certificate or Joint Photo Declaration (Annexure J) signed by both spouses, along with their passports, PAN Cards, or Driving Licences
- For minors:
- Duly filled and signed Annexure D (parental consent)
- Passports of both parents
Important Advisory
- Aadhaar is not valid as proof of Date of Birth.
- “Smart ID Cards” (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter IDs printed on plastic by private vendors) are not accepted.
- DigiLocker and mAadhaar apps should be used to fetch and verify documents. Only DigiLocker-issued documents shared at the time of online application submission will be considered valid.
- Before visiting PSK, applicants must scan QR codes on supporting documents such as Birth Certificates and eAadhaar to ensure their authenticity.
Verification Process
As per Section 5 of the Passports Act, 1967, and Rule 5 of the Passports Rules, 1980, the Passport Authority may conduct thorough checks and request additional documents to verify applicant details.
Citizens planning to apply under the Tatkaal scheme are strongly advised to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements and carry all necessary documents to avoid delays or rejection.
