TeamLease Report: Bengaluru Leads in Salary Growth, Delhi Lags
TeamLease Services has released its FY 23-24 Jobs and Salary Increment Report, shedding light on salary growth trends across Indian cities and sectors. Bengaluru once again emerged as the leader, while Delhi recorded the lowest salary growth among metro cities.
Bengaluru continues to dominate India’s salary growth landscape with an average hike of 9.3%. The city’s status as a hub for technology and business reinforces its position. The average monthly salary in Bengaluru stands at ₹29,500, the highest in the country.
Following Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi reported salary hikes of 7.5% and 7.3%, respectively. The average monthly salary in Chennai is ₹24,500, while Delhi offers ₹27,800.
Mumbai and Ahmedabad Show Progress Â
Mumbai and Ahmedabad also recorded significant salary growth, establishing themselves as key job markets. In Mumbai, the average salary is ₹25,100, while Pune follows closely at ₹24,700. Salary growth in these cities ranged between 4% and 10%, with average monthly salaries between ₹21,300 and ₹29,500.
Retail Leads Salary Growth by Sector Â
The retail sector posted the highest salary growth at 8.4%. Consumer durables (5.2%) and BFSI (5.1%) followed closely. Moderate growth was noted in logistics, FMCG, healthcare, pharma, construction, and real estate.
Telecom professionals earn the highest average monthly salary of ₹29,200, followed by manufacturing and infrastructure at ₹28,200.
The report revealed minimal differences in pay between permanent and temporary employees. Sectors like consumer durables, real estate, agriculture, and agrochemicals showed salary growth between 6.3% and 8.1%.
