The incident, which took place on February 22 around 12:30 PM, quickly gained attention after a fellow commuter recorded the stunt and shared the video on X (formerly Twitter). The footage went viral, sparking public outrage and prompting authorities to take swift action.
Responding to the viral clip, Sarjapur police arrested the techie on Friday. He was booked under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for reckless driving, along with multiple violations of the Motor Vehicles Act. However, he was later released on station bail.
During the inquiry, the techie informed the police that his Bullet, registered in Tamil Nadu, had already been sent back to Chennai earlier in the week. Officers warned him that if the vehicle reappeared in Bengaluru, it would be seized.
The incident serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of reckless driving and the legal consequences of prioritizing personal gestures over road safety.
