Three Arrested For Black Marketing T20 Cricket Match Tickets In Pimpri-Chinchwad
Pimpri-Chinchwad police arrested three men on Friday for illegally selling tickets for the fourth T20 International Cricket match between India and England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Academy in Gahunje.
The accused were identified as Arjun Shashikant Sappaguru (22) and Ravindra Manohar Bansode (27), both from Mamurdi, and Rahul Raju Kanade (24) from Dehu Road.
According to the Dehu Road police, they received a tip-off about the black-market sale of tickets before the match. Acting on the information, police conducted a raid and arrested the trio.
The investigation revealed that the accused purchased tickets online for ₹2,647 each and were attempting to resell them for ₹6,000 per ticket. Police seized their mobile phones and the match tickets during the operation.
Senior Police Inspector Vikram Bansode stated, “The accused were caught selling tickets at inflated rates. They were arrested and presented before the court, which granted custody until February 3.”
A case has been registered at Dehu Road police station based on a complaint from Sunil Shirsat, a police constable from the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell, under sections 112(2) and 3(5) of the BNS.
