In a major accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway this morning, three cars rammed into each other just before the Khopoli exit, causing significant traffic congestion towards Mumbai. According to initial reports, the mishap occurred around 7:45 to 8.00 AM when a speeding car applied brakes, leading to a chain collision involving two vehicles behind it.

Eyewitnesses stated that the sudden slowdown left no reaction time for the trailing vehicles. The impact was severe enough to damage the front and rear sections of all three cars involved. Fortunately, no injuries are reported.

The mishap led to a long queue of vehicles, with commuters experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes in the ghat section. Police officials advised motorists to maintain safe distance and follow lane discipline, especially during monsoon when road conditions become slippery and visibility is poor.
