Pune, May 1, 2025: The Loni Kalbhor Police have registered cases against three house owners for failing to comply with mandatory tenant verification procedures, a crucial protocol aimed at enhancing public safety.

As part of a special drive conducted on Wednesday, two police teams were deployed to inspect hotels, lodges, and densely populated areas to ensure adherence to tenant reporting norms. During the operation, three landlords were found to have rented out their properties without informing the police—an offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Section 223.

The accused have been identified as Dilip Aiginath Takik (33) and Saroja Pratap Jadhav (49), both residents of Kadamvak Wasti, and Shivaji Sudam Kambale (60) from Swami Vivekanand Nagar.

Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Panhale, who is supervising the initiative, stated that further action will be taken against others who neglect this legal responsibility. “Tenant verification is not just a formality—it plays a crucial role in preventing crime and maintaining law and order,” he said, urging all landlords to cooperate fully by submitting accurate tenant information without delay.
