Three Women In Kothrud Hostel Accuse Pune And Sambhaji Nagar Police Of Harassment During Missing Person Investigation
Pune, August 4, 2025: Three working women residing in a hostel in Kothrud have accused police personnel from both Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar of harassment during a search operation related to a missing person case.
According to the police, a 23-year-old woman from Sambhajinagar had reportedly fled to Pune after facing harassment from her husband and in-laws. Her family filed a missing person’s complaint, prompting Sambhajinagar police to trace her location to Kothrud. With help from local police, officers visited a women’s hostel where she was believed to be staying.
While the woman was eventually found at a different hostel in Mundhwa on Friday, the three women she had earlier visited in Kothrud claimed they were harassed during the police search. They alleged that officers used caste-based slurs, ransacked their room, and scattered their belongings.
Baramati MP Supriya Sule raised concern over the incident, stating on social media that she had received a video related to the event and demanded a thorough investigation and strict action if the allegations are proven true.
