Traffic Restrictions Imposed Near Pune University As Tata Metro Construction Work Begins
The Pune Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic restrictions on Ganeshkhind Road to facilitate the construction of the Tata Metro project. The restrictions, which came into effect on November 26, 2024, will remain in place until further notice.
According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Pune City, Amol Zende, the traffic restrictions are necessary to ensure the smooth and safe flow of traffic during the construction period.
The restrictions include:
– Closure of Pune Vidyapeeth Chowk to all types of goods vehicles, PMPML buses, and luxury buses.
– Alternative routes have been designated for vehicles traveling from Bremen Chowk to Shivajinagar, Deccan area.
– Access to all types of vehicles from Ganeshkhind Road will be closed from Vidyapeeth Chowk to Range Hills Chowk and further towards Shivaji Nagar.
– Alternative routes have been designated for vehicles traveling from Range Hills Corner to Shivajinagar, Deccan area.
Additionally, no-parking zones have been enforced on certain stretches, including Range Hills Corner to Symphony Chowk and Symphony Chowk to Unit 4 Crime Branch.
The Pune Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the traffic restrictions and follow the designated alternative routes to ensure their safety and the smooth flow of traffic.
The Tata Metro construction project is expected to improve the city’s public transportation system, but it requires temporary traffic restrictions to ensure the safety of citizens and workers.
