Tragedy in Hinjawadi: 23-Year-Old IT Engineer Dies By Suicide From 7th Floor Of Office Building
Pune | July 28, 2025 – In a deeply disturbing incident that has shaken Hinjawadi’s IT community, a 23-year-old software engineer died by suicide after jumping from the seventh floor of his office building. The reason behind the extreme step remains unclear.
The deceased has been identified as Piyush Ashok Kawade, a resident of Swapnashilp Bungalow, near Zudio, Wakad, Pune, originally from Parshuram Gangaram Road near Akashvani, Nashik.
According to initial reports, the incident took place around 10 AM at the Atlas Copco office where Piyush was employed. Just before the incident, he reportedly complained of chest pain and left a meeting abruptly, only to later be found dead after jumping from the building.
Police have recovered a suicide note, though the contents have not yet been disclosed. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic act.
The incident has sparked concern and sorrow across the Hinjawadi tech hub, raising questions about mental health support in high-pressure work environments.
