Tragedy on Chakan Road: HR Officer Crushed by Trailer, Just 3 Months After Marriage
Pune, July 14 – In a tragic road accident on the Talegaon–Chakan highway near Khalumbre village (Taluka Khed), a 26-year-old HR officer lost his life after being crushed under the wheels of a heavy trailer on Sunday morning around 6:45 am. The deceased has been identified as Gajanan Baburao Bolkekar, a resident of Bolka, Taluka Kandhar, District Nanded.
According to police, Gajanan was on his way to work along with his friend Aditya Gaikwad on a two-wheeler when the incident occurred. As they reached near Hyundai Chowk, a speeding container truck coming from Mumbai towards Chakan, driven by Mohammad Armaan Kamruddin Khan, attempted to overtake them. During the maneuver, the truck hit the two-wheeler, causing both riders to fall. Gajanan, who was riding pillion, came under the rear wheels of the trailer and died on the spot due to severe crushing injuries. Aditya sustained minor injuries.
A case has been registered at Mahalunge MIDC Police Station against the truck driver based on a complaint filed by Vijay Shankarrao Tantarpale (24), a resident of Chakan.
Locals and police have highlighted the poor condition of the Talegaon–Chakan road, pointing out that narrow lanes, heavy traffic, and deep potholes make the route extremely dangerous for daily commuters. This accident adds to the growing list of such tragedies.
Married Just Three Months Ago
Gajanan was working as an HR officer at Panse Auto Com Unit in Chakan MIDC. On the day of the accident, he was running late for work and had requested a lift from Aditya. Sadly, he never made it to the office. Sources confirmed that Gajanan had gotten married only three months ago. His sudden death has left his family, friends, and colleagues in deep shock and sorrow.
