Fans criticize the actor for romanticizing Mumbai’s local trains over European railways.

Tusshar Kapoor’s recent Instagram post has stirred controversy. The actor compared Mumbai’s local trains to the Euro Rail, in his post. The post featured a throwback video of Kapoor enjoying a Eurorail journey, which connects 33 European countries and covers numerous railroads and shipping lines.

The caption read, “No matter what! Even the slick #eurorail doesn’t compare to the satisfaction of traveling in the gritty Mumbai local trains! East or West India is the best!”

This comparison didn’t sit well with many fans. Critics accused Kapoor of romanticizing poverty and criticized his remarks.

One comment read, “Said no one. Pls, we are not insects to travel the way we do in Mumbai trains. They are dehumanizing and it’s okay for you to say that.”

Another user sarcastically asked, “When did you last take a local train in Bombay with a selfie?”

A commenter explained, “Because you don’t have to travel by them, that’s why,”

while another challenged him to “make a reel of yourself traveling in a local. Walk the talk. Yapping is easy.”

Despite the backlash, Kapoor’s sister Ektaa Kapoor showed her support by commenting with a red heart emoji. Earlier this year, Tusshar Kapoor shared his experience using Mumbai’s local train to beat the city’s traffic, documenting his journey in the first-class compartment with a selfie video.

Tusshar Kapoor will next be seen in “Welcome to the Jungle,” directed by Ahmed Khan, set to release in 2025. He will also appear in “Kapkapiii,” directed by Sangeeth Sivan and releasing later this year.
