Two Pune Tourists Drown At Tarkarli Beach, One In Critical Condition
Sindhudurg, February 22, 2025: A tragic incident occurred at Tarkarli Beach in Malvan, where five tourists from Pune entered the sea for a swim. Despite warnings from locals to avoid deep waters, three of them ventured too far, resulting in the drowning of two individuals.
Local residents managed to rescue one tourist, while the bodies of the other two were recovered and sent to the rural hospital. Out of three, two have been reported dead while one is admitted to Sindhudurg District Hospital for treatment and is in critical condition, according to the local police.
Frequent drowning incidents at this beach have raised concerns among locals, who blame administrative negligence for the lack of preventive measures. Authorities have yet to respond to these safety concerns.
