United Hospitality Association members Samir Shetty (Treasurer), Rahul Ramnath (HOD Cloud Kitchen) met many government officials and requested them that there is a need of division of Pune city and Pune district which includes Pune rural areas on the basis of positivity rate and oxygen bed occupancy as many areas esp. Mulshi Taluka have positivity rate less than 0.2%.

The members of UHA met District Collector Pune Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, divisional commissioner Saurabh Rao and Shivajinagar constituency MLA Siddharth Shirole recently urging them all to take immediate steps in reopening rural areas, mostly Mulshi, where most of the restaurants, bars, daily tiffin services, resorts are awaiting on government’s decision.

“There are several resorts, restaurants located in the Pune rural areas where in that blanket policy is adversely affecting hospitality industry that is already suffering tremendous losses. A request was also placed to allow permission to resume dine-in operations, ” added Samir Shetty.

In their letter to the deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, they have urged that the positivity in rural areas such as of Mulshi is just 0.2 percent. Hence the government should allow them to start with their Operations just in the similar way how the restaurants and bars are operating from Monday to Friday. They have also requested deputy chief minister to wave off the Excise license fees, fixed cost on electricity meters and charge only as per the usage, and waiver in property taxes.
