Vaishnavi Hagawane Case: Shashank And Lata Hagawane Arrested In Separate JCB Fraud Case
Vaishnavi Hagawane ended her life due to alleged harassment at her in-laws’ home. Her husband Shashank Hagawane and mother-in-law Lata Hagawane have been named as key abusers in the case. As investigations continue, several dark truths about the Hagawane family are beginning to surface.
In a fresh development, both Shashank and Lata Hagawane have now been arrested in a JCB vehicle fraud case by the Mahalunge police. They were brought to the Mahalunge police station and were presented in Rajgurunagar court. The court has granted three days’ police custody for both accused. The court granted police custody remand till June 6, 2025.
The JCB fraud case was reported by Prashant Yelwande, who filed a complaint at Mahalunge police station. As per his complaint, Shashank Hagawane allegedly cheated him of ₹11.7 lakh in a fraudulent JCB deal. Yelwande also accused Shashank of issuing threats at gunpoint.
Under the guidance of PI Nitin Gite and API Santosh Jayabhaye, police swiftly moved to recover the JCB. A late-night raid was conducted on May 31 in Bhukum.
Meanwhile, in the Vaishnavi Hagawane suicide case, police have arrested multiple family members: her husband Shashank Hagawane, father-in-law Rajendra Hagawane, mother-in-law Lata Hagawane, sister-in-law Karishma Hagawane, brother-in-law Sushil Hagawane, and Nilesh Chavan. Mahalunge Police Station filed a case under Sections 420, 406, 34 of the IPC and Sections 30 of the Arms Act.
