After a wait of over two years, Pune is set to welcome the Vande Bharat Express. The Railway Board has approved the Pune-Hubli Vande Bharat Express, which will commence operations on September 15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train via video conference at 11:45 am.

The train, comprising eight coaches, will halt at Dharwad, Belgaum, Kolhapur, Miraj, Sangli, Satara, and Karad stations. Although the train falls under Hubli division, Punekars are thrilled to have this latest Vande Bharat Express on their tracks.

“The introduction of Vande Bharat Express will enhance connectivity between Pune and Hubli,” said Indu Dubey, Divisional Railway Manager, Pune. “Stops at Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, and Karad will provide convenience to passengers in these areas.”

Initially, two Vande Bharat Express trains were planned for Kolhapur-Pune and Pune-Hubli routes. However, the Kolhapur-bound train was diverted, and the Pune-Hubli Express was extended to Kolhapur. To mitigate the increased travel time, the train will provide daily service to Hubli but only alternate-day service to Kolhapur.
