Pune: On the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa, one of the three-and-a-half most significant muhurats for purchases, Pune witnessed a remarkable surge in vehicle sales. A total of 10,170 new vehicles were registered, marking a 28% increase compared to last year. This includes 6,510 two-wheelers and 2,424 four-wheelers.

According to the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO), this year’s Gudi Padwa saw 2,500 more vehicles sold than in 2024, when 7,336 registrations were recorded. In 2023, the figure stood at 7,706. The trend suggests a growing consumer preference for vehicle purchases during festive occasions.

Festive Demand Drives Record Vehicle Sales

Gudi Padwa, Akshaya Tritiya, Dussehra, and Diwali Padwa are considered highly auspicious for buying homes, gold, and vehicles. Due to this demand, manufacturers and dealers ensure advanced bookings to cater to the festive rush. This year, the trend continued with record-breaking vehicle sales in Pune.
