New Delhi, December 14, 2024: Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, 96, has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. Hospital officials have confirmed that his condition is stable, and he is currently under observation.

Dr. Vinit Suri, a senior consultant in the neurology department, is overseeing Advani’s care. According to sources, he was admitted two days ago, marking his second visit to the hospital this year. However, the reason for his latest hospitalization has not been disclosed.

Born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi, Advani began his political journey at the age of 14 as a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Following the Partition in 1947, he migrated to India along with his family.

In 1951, Advani joined the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, founded by Syama Prasad Mookerjee, and entered the Rajya Sabha in 1970. Two years later, he was elected president of the party. During the Emergency in 1975, Advani, along with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was arrested, further solidifying his role as a stalwart in Indian politics.
