Punjab Woman Dies of Heart Attack While Dancing on Karwa Chauth

What began as an evening of joy and devotion turned into tragedy in Barnala, Punjab, when a 59-year-old woman collapsed and died of a heart attack while dancing during Karwa Chauth celebrations.

The woman, identified as Asha Rani, was known in her community for her cheerful nature and active involvement in social work. According to locals, she had observed the day-long fast for her husband’s long life and later attended a festive gathering in her neighbourhood along with her husband, Tarsem Lal, and granddaughter.

A video from the celebration has since surfaced, showing Asha Rani smiling and dancing moments before the tragedy. The song playing in the background carried an eerily poignant line: “Mauj masti ae maan, pata nahi ki hona” (Enjoy the moment, who knows what tomorrow holds).

Her sudden passing has left the community in shock. Neighbours and friends described her as a kind-hearted woman who was always ready to help others.

“She was full of life and positivity. None of us could have imagined that this Karwa Chauth would be her last,” said a neighbour, mourning the untimely loss.
