VIDEO: Shivshahi Bus Catches Fire on Pune-Satara Highway, Passengers Escape Unharmed
A narrow escape for 30 passengers was captured on video as a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) ‘Shivshahi’ bus caught fire on the Pune-Satara highway near Vadhefata, Satara, on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 pm while the bus was en route from Swargate to Sangli.
The fire reportedly started after the left rear tyre of the air-conditioned Shivshahi bus burst. Quick action from the crew ensured that all 30 passengers, along with two staff members, were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
In the video, flames can be seen engulfing the rear of the bus, causing severe damage estimated at around ₹25 lakh, according to MSRTC officials.

MSRTC, one of the largest public transport corporations in India, operates a fleet of over 15,000 buses, including the popular Shivshahi AC buses, which serve more than 60 lakh passengers daily. Fortunately, in this incident, no one was harmed.
