Violence in Shirur: Worker dies after falling into hot juice during fight
A shocking incident has come to light from Shirur, where a worker was killed after a fight with two colleagues. The worker, identified as Sarju, fell into a vat of hot sugarcane juice during a scuffle. Instead of being taken to the hospital, his colleagues allegedly threw him into a river to cover up the crime.
The incident took place at a sugarcane processing unit in Mandavgan Farata, Shirur Taluka. According to reports, Sarju, who had come to work intoxicated, got into a heated argument with his co-workers, Sher Singh Ombir Kumar and Karan Anil Thakur. During the altercation, Sarju lost his balance and fell into a vat of hot sugarcane juice.
Sarju was seriously injured in the fall. His colleagues claimed they would take him to the hospital but instead threw him into the Bhima River, attempting to destroy evidence. Sarju died as a result of the incident.
The gruesome crime came to light after the sugarcane unit owner filed a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against Sher Singh Ombir Kumar and Karan Anil Thakur, both originally from Sitlagarhi, Shamli District in Uttar Pradesh.
The police have launched an investigation into the case and are gathering more details about the incident. Authorities are also probing the exact sequence of events leading to the death and the accused’s attempt to dispose of the body.
