Viral Clip of Teacher Training Children for Independence Day Melts Hearts
As India celebrates Independence Day today, a video from a school has gone viral on social media, reminding many of their own childhood days. The clip captures the rehearsals that usually take place in schools before August 15, a tradition remembered fondly by those who have moved on to adult life.
The video, shared on Instagram by a user identified as SK Esrile, shows a teacher demonstrating dance steps to a group of students. The children are seen practicing the moves in coordination with the patriotic song “Des Rangila.” Smiling and cheering each other on, the students radiate excitement for the upcoming celebration.
A text overlay on the video reads, “Preparations for 15th August.” The rehearsal has struck a chord with viewers online, who quickly related to their own memories of school celebrations. The video has already crossed one million views, received over one lakh likes, and thousands of comments. Many praised the teacher’s dedication as well as the students’ enthusiasm. The caption also tagged West Bengal’s Minister of Education, Bratya Basu.
Netizens filled the comments section with nostalgic remarks. Some wrote about missing school functions, while others said rehearsals were always the most memorable part of Independence Day. For many, the charm of school celebrations lies not only in the final performances but also in the days of practice, filled with laughter, friendly competition, and togetherness.
Past Incident From Raipur
While the Independence Day video has warmed hearts, social media also recalled an older, troubling case from Raipur that had sparked outrage in July 2025. A video from Pashupatipur Primary School in Wadrafnagar block showed headmaster Laxmi Narayan Singh allegedly intoxicated and dancing with girl students inside a classroom.
At the time, students had complained that Singh often came to school drunk and subjected them to unwarranted punishments, including physical beatings. The incident led to swift action, with Balrampur District Education Officer (DEO) D. N. Mishra suspended Singh and attached him to the DEO office. A report was also sought from the Block Education Officer, Manish Kumar.
Local MLA Shakuntala Porte had strongly condemned the behavior and directed authorities to ensure strict disciplinary measures. The incident raised serious concerns about teacher accountability and highlighted the importance of vigilance in schools to protect students.
