Viral Post: Man shocked to receive Maggi and Snacks Instead of Silver Coins From Swiggy, Netizens React
Order for high-value silver coins turns into viral “Swiggy horror story” before company steps in
Food delivery apps have made life easier by offering everything from snacks to groceries at lightning speed. But for one customer, the convenience came with a shocking twist.
Vineeth K., who placed an order for silver coins on Swiggy Instamart, was stunned when he received a bag full of Maggi noodles and Haldiram snacks instead.
Sharing his experience on X (formerly Twitter), Vineeth called it a “Swiggy horror story.” Out of the entire delivery, only one pouch was sealed. The delivery partner told him it couldn’t be opened unless he accepted the order or canceled it.
After nearly 40 minutes with customer support, Vineeth finally opened the sealed pouch—only to find silver coins of 925 sterling silver instead of the promised 999 purity. The food packets were later taken back by the delivery partner, though Vineeth even told him he could keep them since he hadn’t ordered them.

Ordered silver coins, got Maggi and Haldiram packets.
There is one pouch in entire order which is sealed. Delivery guy told we can’t open it, either I take entire order or cancel it

The post quickly went viral, sparking a wave of reactions. Some users criticized Vineeth for ordering silver coins from an instant delivery platform, with comments like, “Why would anyone buy silver from Swiggy?” and “Rule of thumb: If you order gold or silver online, don’t complain afterwards.”
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for the details, Vineeth. We would like to run a quick check. Please bear with us.

In an update, Vineeth said Swiggy later delivered a corrected order. Most coins were of 999 purity this time, but two were still 925. “Except for two coins, everything else is 999,” he wrote, tagging Swiggy again.
Responding publicly, Swiggy said, “This is not what we wish for you, Vineeth. Please share the order ID so we can address this further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.”
