Viral Video: Man Holds Knife to Minor Girl’s Throat Over One-Sided Love in Satara, Locals Foil Attack
A shocking incident of obsession turned violent unfolded in broad daylight in Satara’s Basappa Peth Karanje area, where a young man held a knife to a minor girl’s throat after she reportedly rejected his advances. The terrifying scene, captured on video and widely shared on social media, shows the accused threatening the schoolgirl while ignoring frantic pleas from onlookers.
According to eyewitnesses, the man had been stalking and harassing the girl for some time. On the day of the incident, he confronted her in public, brandished a knife, and held it to her neck, sending shockwaves through the busy neighborhood. The girl, visibly distressed, tried to stay calm and pleaded with him to let her go.
As tension gripped the area, a few brave individuals in the crowd quickly coordinated a rescue. One young man climbed a nearby compound wall and tackled the attacker from behind, while others rushed to restrain him and snatch away the knife. The crowd then detained and beat the assailant before handing him over to the police.
Officers Sagar Nikam, Dheeraj More, Umesh Adagale, and Amol Ingavale arrived shortly after and took the accused into custody. Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused had been persistently harassing the girl prior to this incident, raising serious concerns about the safety of local students.
The incident has left the community shaken, with residents now demanding heightened police patrolling, particularly around schools and colleges, to prevent such dangerous episodes in the future.
