Viral Video Shows Rotten Eggs Delivered by Blinkit, Triggers Wave of Similar Complaints Online
A video posted by content creator Chow Sureng Rajkonwar has gone viral on Instagram, highlighting a troubling experience with quick-commerce platform Blinkit. In the clip, Rajkonwar reveals that he allegedly received a tray of rotten eggs through the app.
The footage shows him cracking open the eggs, exposing discoloured contents and a black liquid with a foul odour. “Dekhiye pura kaala-kaala kya nikal rha hai (Look at it! What’s this black liquid coming out of the eggs?),” he exclaimed in the video. Rajkonwar said he suspected something was wrong as soon as the delivery arrived due to its strong smell. His post was captioned, “Rotten eggs from Blinkit.”
The company has yet to issue a response to the video.
Following the viral post, many social media users came forward with similar stories. One user wrote, “I’ve had a similar experience with Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart. I’ve switched back to local markets now—God knows what I was eating.” Another user mentioned receiving bad eggs only when ordering in bulk, adding, “The 30-egg tray was bad, but the 10-egg tray is usually fine.”
One commenter recalled, “Had a similar incident with @letsblinkit recently. Got rotten dates delivered. Although they refunded me, I’m now hesitant to order again.” Others urged customers to rely on local vendors where quality and expiry can be verified before purchase.
This isn’t the first time Blinkit has faced criticism. In March, a user took to Reddit accusing the platform of delivering underweight products. They claimed that a 500g pack of grapes turned out to be significantly lighter than advertised.
The growing number of complaints has sparked conversations about the quality and accountability of quick-commerce grocery services.
