An IndiGo pilot’s first commercial flight became a deeply emotional milestone when his parents joined him as passengers, marking a proud family moment that has now gone viral online.
Captain Pradeep Krishnan, a fellow IndiGo pilot, shared the touching moment on Instagram. The video features his colleague, Captain Aravind, who was operating his first scheduled service to Thiruvananthapuram—with his parents onboard to witness the special day.
During the flight, Captain Krishnan made a heartfelt mid-air announcement, acknowledging Aravind’s accomplishment and inviting him to speak. Taking over the mic, Aravind expressed gratitude to his parents for their unwavering support through years of training and sacrifice. A brief silence followed, soon replaced by warm applause from passengers.
Krishnan, in the caption of his post, reflected on the significance of the moment: “Becoming a pilot isn’t just about passion. It takes relentless effort—not just from the trainee but also from their family who back them every step of the way.”
He added, “It’s always special when loved ones get to be a part of your first flight. Aravind’s parents booked tickets just to support him. I was proud to captain that flight.”
