Watch Shaan as Son Maahi joins in: Kishore Kumar’s Timeless Magic brought Alive at BKC, Mumbai

Shaan’s heartfelt concert brought Kishore Kumar’s timeless magic alive with nostalgia, laughter, and sheer joy.
The massive auditorium at BKC, Mumbai, turned into a time machine on Friday night as singer Shaan unveiled his first full-fledged tribute to Kishore Kumar with Forever Kishore Shaan Se. What followed was an evening steeped in nostalgia, warmth, and delight—an ode that had audiences laughing, swaying, and even screaming, “We love you, Shaan!”
The concert felt less like a performance and more like a celebration of music, memories, and mischief. Shaan, with his trademark charm, even had the crowd cheering when he stumbled over lyrics, turning slip-ups into moments of connection.
The evening opened with Shaan’s own hits, including Main Hoon Don and Om Shanti Om, before he eased into Kishore da’s timeless repertoire. Across nearly 70 songs, he traversed every shade of the legend—from soulful ballads like Dil Kya Kare to breezy duets such as Haal Kaisa Hai Janaab Ka and Khullam Khulla Pyar Karenge.

Between songs, Shaan painted a vivid picture of Kishore Kumar—not just as a singer but as an optimist, philosopher, and entertainer. Drawing laughter from the crowd, he compared the anxiety of WhatsApp blue ticks to Kishore’s Intezaar Kiya Toh Aana Hai Zaroor, and hailed Kishore da as “a man ahead of his time, who understood the power of manifesting,” citing Jo Soche Jo Chahe Woh Karke Dikhade as proof.
The concert also brought tender surprises. Shaan’s son, Maahi, joined him on a moving O Mere Dil Ke Chain, while Kishore Kumar’s son, Sumeet Kumar, teamed up with Shaan on crowd favorites like Saara Zamana and Pyaar Deewana Hota Hai. A poignant moment arrived when Shaan paid tribute to the late Zubeen Garg with an emotional rendition of Yeh Jeevan Hai.
Singer Nihira Joshi, known for her work in Bunty Aur Babli and Salaam-e-Ishq, accompanied Shaan on select duets, adding another layer of charm to an already unforgettable night.
As the final notes of Chalte Chalte floated across the hall, the audience swayed together—singing, smiling, and remembering Kishore Kumar’s magic through Shaan’s voice and spirit.
