Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal captivated the audience on Marathi Language Day with his remarkable command of the language.

Actor Vicky Kaushal, whose latest film Chhaava continues to set new box office records, recently participated in a special event organized by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray to mark Marathi Language Gaurav Day.

Taking to Instagram, Vicky shared a video from the event, where he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. He said, “For a non-Marathi person born, educated, and working in Maharashtra, standing on this stage at Shivaji Park on Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Divas is a matter of great honor for me.”

During the event, the actor recited the Marathi poem Kana by renowned poet Kusumagraj. He revealed that Raj Thackeray had asked him to perform the poem, and he initially did not know the meaning of the word ‘Kana.’ However, after working on Chhaava, he gained a deeper understanding and delivered the recital with respect and enthusiasm.

Vicky also shared a lighthearted moment involving legendary singer Asha Bhosle. He recalled, “Asha Tai looked at me with surprise and asked, ‘Are you also reciting a poem? In Marathi?’ When I said yes, she reacted with ‘Tauba Tauba!’”

Sharing his experience on social media, Vicky wrote, “Grateful to Shri Raj Thackeray Ji for making me a part of the Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din celebrations. Honored to share the stage with such wonderful and talented minds.”

The event saw the presence of several eminent personalities, including Asha Bhosle, Javed Akhtar, Ashok Saraf, Ashutosh Gowariker, Riteish Deshmukh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Laxman Utekar, and Sonali Bendre.
