In a moving moment that has gone viral, former Goa Minister Deepak Dhavalikar was given a surprise in-flight tribute by none other than his daughter, Gauri Dhavalikar, who was serving as the First Officer on board an IndiGo flight from Chennai to Goa.
Gauri begins the standard passenger welcome before making a personal and emotional detour. “This is a very special flight for me,” she said, introducing her father to the passengers. “A special thank you to my father for giving me the whole world and making all my dreams come true.”

Deepak Dhavalikar, a two-time MLA from the Priol constituency, served as a minister in the Manohar Parrikar-led government between 2012 and 2016. He is currently the president of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Goa’s first ruling party post-Portuguese rule. His brother Sudin Dhavalikar, a six-term legislator from Marcaim, also held the post of Deputy Chief Minister in the past.
