Watch Video: Mercedes gets stuck in Surat beach swamp as stunt goes wrong
Viral video raises questions about beach patrol enforcement in Dumas
A luxury joyride turned into a public embarrassment in Surat as a Mercedes-Benz got stuck in the swampy sands of Dumas beach, after a stunt went horribly wrong. The incident, captured in a now-viral video, shows the high-end car stranded near the shoreline while its occupants stand around helplessly, unsure how to retrieve it.
The stunt occurred despite a long-standing ban on driving vehicles onto the beach due to safety and environmental concerns. Locals confirmed that such restrictions are regularly enforced with patrols by police officials, but the group somehow bypassed the monitoring and managed to reach the beach undetected.
According to reports, the group had parked the vehicle dangerously close to the waterline. As the tide came in and receded, the car began sinking deeper into the wet sand, eventually becoming immobile. The viral clip, lasting just 18 seconds, clearly shows the stranded Mercedes and the panic among the group as their stunt turned into a rescue challenge.
“Even with signs and repeated warnings, these drivers continue to flout rules,” said a local resident, adding that similar incidents have become disturbingly common at Dumas beach. Many citizens are now raising concerns about the effectiveness of existing police patrols and want stricter enforcement.
So far, authorities have not issued any official statement or clarified if any action will be taken against those involved in the incident.
