Maharashtra is expected to get relief from continuous heavy rainfall, but the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert for October 5, 2025. Cloudy skies with light to moderate showers have been forecast in several regions, while parts of Vidarbha remain under a yellow alert due to thunderstorms and gusty winds.

According to the IMD, Konkan, Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall on October 5. In Mumbai, cloudy weather with intermittent showers is predicted. Similar conditions are expected in Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts.

In Western Maharashtra, districts including Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, and Solapur may see light rain, with moderate showers over ghat areas. Pune city is likely to experience partly cloudy skies.

In Marathwada, rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, and Dharashiv. Some areas may also witness strong winds.

North Maharashtra districts such as Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Ahilyanagar may record light showers, with moderate rainfall possible in ghat regions of Nashik.

Meanwhile, most districts in Vidarbha including Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal are expected to remain dry with clear skies. However, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Gondia districts are under a yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds. Residents in these areas have been advised to exercise caution.

Farmers and citizens across the state are urged to stay updated with weather advisories, as localized thunderstorms in parts of Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha could affect agricultural activities.
