Pune, October 8, 2025: Maharashtra is set to experience intermittent rainfall in several regions on October 9, with the Meteorological Department issuing a yellow alert for five districts. Since the beginning of October, scattered showers have been observed across parts of the state.
The Konkan coast, Western Maharashtra, and Marathwada are expected to see cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain. Some areas may experience gusty winds accompanied by thunderstorms. Citizens are advised to remain cautious in affected regions.
Konkan Region: Mumbai and surrounding areas like Palghar and Thane may see cloudy skies with light rain. Raigad and Ratnagiri could experience light to moderate showers with thunder, while Sindhudurg may witness gusty winds and thunderstorms. A yellow alert has been issued for Sindhudurg.
Western Maharashtra: Areas including Pune, Pune Ghats, Satara, Satara Ghats, Kolhapur, Kolhapur Ghats, Sangli, and Solapur are expected to receive light to moderate rain, sometimes accompanied by gusty winds and thunder. Yellow alerts have been issued for Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur, and surrounding Ghats.
Marathwada: Districts like Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, and Dharashiv may see light rainfall with thunderstorms. Rainfall intensity is expected to be low, but the afternoon atmosphere could become humid.
North Maharashtra: Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Ahilyanagar are likely to experience light rain with cloudy skies, accompanied by a slight drop in temperature.
Vidarbha: Regions including Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal are expected to remain dry with no rainfall. Nagpur is likely to record temperatures between 23°C and 31°C.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens in yellow alert districts to exercise caution while venturing outdoors. Avoid staying in open areas during thunderstorms, refrain from using mobile phones outdoors, and do not take shelter under trees.
