Maharashtra, October 1, 2025 – The state continues to experience rainfall after intermittent showers over the past two days, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted an increase in rainfall intensity today. Light to moderate rain is expected across several districts, while some areas may witness thunderstorms and strong winds. Farmers and residents have been advised to exercise caution.

Konkan Region: Moderate rainfall is likely in all districts of Konkan. Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg are expected to have cloudy skies with moderate showers. However, no official alert has been issued for this region.

Western Maharashtra: Pune, Kolhapur, and Satara may experience light to moderate rainfall, while the hilly areas are likely to see cloudy conditions with moderate showers. Sangli and Solapur may receive light rain, prompting farmers to monitor recently sown Kharif crops carefully.

Marathwada: Light to moderate rain is expected in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Latur, and Dharashiv. Nanded, however, may face heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and strong winds, for which a yellow alert has been issued.

North Maharashtra: Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, Nashik hilly areas, and Ahilyanagar can expect cloudy weather with light to moderate rain. Thunderstorms are also possible in the hilly regions.

Vidarbha: Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Nagpur, Wardha, and Washim are expected to remain dry, offering some relief to farmers. However, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, and Yavatmal may experience thunderstorms and strong winds, with a yellow alert in place.

Overall, rainfall intensity is likely to increase in Maharashtra today, with five districts under a yellow alert. Light to moderate rain is expected in Konkan, Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra, while parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada may face stormy conditions. Citizens are urged to take necessary precautions.
