Weather Update: Chance of heavy rain in next 48 hours; alert from IMD for ‘these’ states
Weather Alert: Pune and Surrounding Areas Expected to Face Thunderstorms, Rain, and Wind
There has been a big change in the weather of many states in the country. Many areas witnessed heavy rains while some areas experienced bitter cold. Similarly, due to the formation of a low-pressure zone in the Arabian Sea, steamy winds are flowing from the Bay of Bengal. As a result, the temperature has increased and a cloudy environment has formed. Similarly, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there will be heavy rain in many states including Maharashtra in the next 48 hours.
As per Skymet Weather, there is a cyclonic circulation swirling over Haryana, a low-pressure trough extending from Central Uttar Pradesh to Southwest Madhya Pradesh, and a stoic anticyclone anchoring over Odisha. Together, these atmospheric allies have created a ‘confluence zone’ over the states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, where warm, humid winds collide with colder ones to produce thunderstorms and rain.
Madhya Pradesh, Central and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and even a few isolated places in Bihar are already experiencing this meteorological tango. Meanwhile, the sky is likely to remain partly cloudy in Pune city and its surroundings for the next two days, and the weather department has predicted the possibility of light rain from next Saturday till Tuesday.
On one hand, the entire North India, including the capital city of Delhi, is witnessing bitter cold, while on the other hand, the visibility is low due to dense fog. Due to this, railway and air services are affected. The regional meteorological department has issued a yellow alert.
It is getting colder due to snowfall in the mountains. According to the Meteorological Department, the mercury will come down on Thursday i.e. January 4. During this period, the minimum temperature is likely to be 7 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to be 17 degrees Celsius. Skies will remain clear with light to moderate fog expected in the morning.
