Pune experienced its lowest temperature of the season today, with Shivajinagar recording a chilly 9.5°C. This marks the first time in four years that Pune has witnessed single-digit temperatures for three consecutive days in November.

According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune’s minimum temperature has been steadily dropping, with today’s reading being the lowest so far this season. The National Defence Academy (NDA) reported an even lower 10°C, while Ahilyanagar recorded a significant drop to 9.5°C.

In comparison, Lonavala recorded a relatively warmer 17.7°C today. Other parts of Maharashtra also experienced a drop in temperatures, with Ahmednagar recording 8.3°C, and Jeur at 6°C, the lowest in the state.

– Satara: 12.2°C

The cold snap is expected to ease starting tomorrow due to a deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal. The system is likely to move northwestwards and weaken gradually, crossing the north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast by November 30.

According to IMD, moisture incursion into parts of Maharashtra as the system moves northwestwards will naturally lead to a rise in minimum temperatures. Pune’s minimum temperatures could reach 12-13°C around December 3-4, per the latest forecast.
