Pune: Thunderstorms are likely in parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada, while light rainfall is expected in some other regions of the state. According to the weather department, some areas are also under a yellow alert due to unstable weather conditions.

In recent days, temperatures have soared past 40°C in several districts, leaving citizens struggling with the intense heat. Nandurbar recorded the highest temperature in the state at 46°C. The rising heat has already led to a few cases of heat stroke-related deaths. Meanwhile, parts of Konkan experienced hot and humid weather on Thursday.

Regions Likely to Receive Light Rain:
Areas such as Nanded, Latur, Pune, Solapur, and Sindhudurg are expected to receive light rainfall. A week ago, unseasonal rain affected regions like Nashik, Konkan, Vidarbha, and Marathwada, causing significant damage to crops and heavy losses for farmers.

Earlier, a low-pressure area had formed in the Bay of Bengal, which has now dissipated. However, due to a low-pressure belt stretching to North Vidarbha, cloudy skies are expected to persist in that region.
