WeWork India Strengthens Presence in Pune and Chennai with Over 200,000 Sq. Ft. of New Workspaces
In a strategic move to further deepen its reach across India’s high-growth business districts, WeWork India has unveiled plans to open two new flexible workspaces—one each in Pune and Chennai—adding a combined 200,000+ square feet to its national portfolio. These new centres are set to launch in the second half of 2025.
A Major Boost for Chennai’s IT Hub
WeWork is doubling down on its commitment to Chennai, launching its third location in the city within just over a year of entering the market. The upcoming centre will be housed in the Littlewood Tower at the gateway of Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), the city’s thriving IT corridor. Spanning three floors, this facility will cover approximately 150,000 square feet and feature around 2,400 desks in a fully managed and customised office setup.
Arnav S. Gusain, Chief of Supply at WeWork India, commented on the expansion:
“With Chennai emerging as a center for tech and innovation and Pune offering a thriving business atmosphere, there’s great potential for companies of all types. These new locations are a meaningful step forward in growing our presence in key, fast-developing regions.”

Pune Debut: Entering the City’s Commercial Nerve Centre
Marking its official entry into Pune, WeWork India has signed a lease for a new centre in the bustling neighbourhood of Kharadi.A rapidly developing business hotspot. This new space, located within the EON Free Zone, will offer over 60,000 square feet across two floors, accommodating roughly 1,000 desks. Strategically situated near Ramwadi Metro Station, Pune International Airport, and business landmarks like the World Trade Centre and Gera Commerzone, the centre is poised to serve startups and enterprises alike.
Sagar Chordia, Director at Panchshil Realty, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing collaboration:
“We’re excited to continue our strong partnership with WeWork India at EON Free Zone. Together, we’ve always aimed to build top-tier workspaces that inspire ambition, spark innovation, and encourage collaboration. Kharadi has quickly become a key business hub in Pune, and we’re proud to contribute to its growth and development.”
Nationwide Expansion and Future Outlook
Since its inception in 2017, WeWork India has grown its footprint impressively and now operates 68 centres across eight cities: Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida. With over 100,000 desks nationwide, the company serves a broad spectrum of clients—from solo entrepreneurs to large global corporations.
Earlier this year, the company raised ₹500 crore to strengthen its financial position and fund future expansion, though previously discussed plans for an initial public offering (IPO) have been put on pause for now.
India’s flexible office sector continues to show strong growth potential. According to the CBRE Industry Report 2025, flexible workspace supply across Tier 1 cities is expected to increase at a CAGR of 18–19%, reaching 124–126 million square feet by the end of 2027. This resilience is driven by increasing demand for adaptable office solutions across business sizes and sectors.
