Social media influencer Kirti Patel, also known as Kirti Adalja, was finally arrested by Gujarat Police after evading authorities for nearly 10 months. Patel, who commands a massive following of over 1.3 million on Instagram and nearly 2 lakh subscribers on YouTube, was wanted in a high-profile honeytrap case involving the extortion of ₹2 crore from a Surat-based builder.

The dramatic arrest was carried out in Ahmedabad’s Sarkhej area, where Patel had been hiding. Officials said she had been constantly changing her location, SIM cards, and internet access points to avoid detection. Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar confirmed that a warrant had been issued against her, and the arrest was made with the help of cyber teams and the Ahmedabad Police.

The honeytrap operation allegedly involved luring the builder into a compromising situation and demanding a ransom. The FIR in the case was originally filed in June 2024, naming five accused. Four of them were arrested early in the investigation, while Patel remained on the run, all while actively maintaining her online persona.

Despite being a wanted criminal, Patel continued uploading content to Instagram and YouTube, often sharing religious posts and promoting products. She even appeared in promotional reels for online casinos and posted spiritual messages from the 2025 Mahakumbh. Her online activity eventually helped investigators trace her digital footprint, and police reportedly sought assistance from Instagram to track her location.

Officials noted that Patel is also facing multiple other complaints, including allegations of land grabbing and criminal intimidation. Known for frequently using abusive language and issuing threats through her social media accounts, she had developed a notorious reputation online.

Her YouTube channel, active since 2019, features a mix of devotional content and videos addressing her legal issues. In one recent post, she thanked followers after the quashing of an FIR, even as she remained a fugitive.

After her arrest, Patel was presented in court, and police have begun recording her statement. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, with more revelations expected in connection to her alleged criminal network.
