“Work Is Important, Health Is Non-Negotiable”: CEO Lands in ICU After Sudden Nosebleeds & High BP
Mishra explained that, without any prior warning, he suddenly experienced uncontrollable nosebleeds, which led to a rushed visit to the hospital.
Amit Mishra, the CEO and founder of Dazeinfo Media & Research Pvt Ltd, took to LinkedIn to share a personal health scare that highlighted the importance of prioritizing health over work. In his post, Mishra shared how an unexpected medical emergency while working on his laptop served as a stark reminder of the need to listen to one’s body.
“Work is important, but health is non-negotiable,” he wrote.
Mishra explained that, without any prior warning, he suddenly experienced uncontrollable nosebleeds, which led to a rushed visit to the hospital. Once there, doctors discovered his blood pressure had spiked to a dangerously high 230, resulting in his immediate admission to the ICU.
The situation was particularly alarming because Mishra had no history of high blood pressure, nor did he experience any common symptoms such as headaches or dizziness. “No headaches, no dizziness, no warnings, no history of BP,” he wrote.
The next day, Mishra’s blood pressure dropped to normal levels without any clear explanation, and he remains under medical supervision as doctors continue to investigate the cause of the sudden spike and drop in his condition.
Drawing on his experience, Mishra took the opportunity to issue a cautionary message to professionals who often neglect their health in the name of work. He urged everyone to pay attention to their bodies and avoid ignoring small signs of stress, which can eventually lead to bigger health issues.
Mishra’s post struck a chord with many, sparking a broader conversation about the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Several users shared their own stories and offered advice on how to prioritize health while juggling professional responsibilities.
Another user highlighted the lack of focus on fitness in India, emphasizing the need for physical activity from a young age.
One professional, inspired by Mishra’s message, expressed a desire to share his wisdom in training sessions for entrepreneurs and executives.
A comment from another user reflected on the pressures of modern work culture and societal expectations that drive unhealthy choices.
“Unfortunately, everybody is in the rat race. Requirements have been unnecessarily inflated. Societal pressure is blurring reality and influencing people to make nonsensical choices. All these add up to eroding the most important wealth, which is health. I wish you a speedy recovery,” said one user.
Mishra, who studied Economics at D.A.V. College in Kanpur, founded Dazeinfo Media & Research Pvt Ltd in 2017. The company has since grown into a prominent name in business intelligence and market research.
