Kitchen surprises are usually harmless—a quirky-shaped carrot or a slightly overripe tomato. But for one woman, a routine cooking session turned into a nightmare she’ll never forget.

While chopping vegetables for a meal, a woman was left utterly stunned when she discovered a live scorpion inside a capsicum. The alarming incident, which occurred in May and was shared through the Instagram page Abhi Cuisine, quickly gained traction online and left viewers both horrified and speechless.

In the video, she recalls how she was preparing a capsicum-based dish. Everything seemed normal until she cut open the vegetable. To her shock, a scorpion emerged from between the pieces and landed on the plate.

“Dekhiye kya dikh gaya… bichhoo, yaani ki scorpion,” she says, visibly startled, pointing at the small creature with her knife.

Initially, she thought the scorpion was lifeless. But when she nudged it gently with the tip of her knife, it began to wriggle, confirming it was very much alive.

Shaken, she warned viewers about how dangerous such creatures can be.

“Yeh kaafi poisonous aur dangerous hota hai,” she said, referring to the potential threat posed by the venomous creature.

While it’s not unusual to find worms or insects in produce, she admitted that this was far from ordinary.

“Bahut hi unexpected tha,” she explained.

“Fruits, vegetables mein worms nikalna aam baat hai. Maybe iske neeche wale portion mein koi hole ya crack tha jisse yeh enter kar gaya. Par bahut hi scary experience tha.” (Finding worms in fruits and vegetables is quite common. Maybe there was a hole or crack in the bottom part through which it entered. But it was a really scary experience)

Reactions from viewers poured in soon after the video was posted. Many were horrified, with one user commenting, “OMG, that is so scary and it’s still alive.” Others expressed concern and suggested extra caution when handling vegetables.

“That’s really shocking! Just a reminder to always wash and inspect veggies thoroughly before cooking,” wrote one commenter.

Another added, “Ohh! Yes, now it’s rainy season, so be aware.” The monsoon, after all, is known to bring with it a rise in such creepy-crawly incidents.

The viral clip sparked not just surprise but also an important reminder: Never judge a vegetable by its outer appearance. Even the cleanest-looking capsicum might be hiding an unwelcome guest.
