Wrestling Legend Hulk Hogan Passes Away at 71 After Cardiac Arrest at Florida Home
WWE icon and global wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71 following a reported cardiac arrest at his Clearwater, Florida home, according to TMZ Sports. Emergency services, including multiple police and EMT units, responded to the call early Thursday morning. Hogan was reportedly carried out on a stretcher and transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The wrestling world has been left in shock, especially as Hogan had recently undergone major heart surgery but was said to be recovering well. In June, Us Weekly had reported that Hogan had a “serious” heart procedure but was not in critical condition. His wife, Sky Daily, had also refuted rumors of him being in a coma, assuring fans that his heart was “strong” and that he was healing steadily.
Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, was a household name in professional wrestling during the 1980s and 1990s. Known for his charismatic persona, trademark red-and-yellow gear, and signature moves, Hogan played a key role in catapulting WWE (then WWF) into global fame. A multi-time world champion and WWE Hall of Famer, he also contributed significantly to the rise of WCW in the late ’90s.
As of now, no official cause of death has been released, and Hogan’s family has not issued a formal statement. The wrestling fraternity and fans worldwide mourn the loss of one of its most iconic figures.
