‘Yes, India Is Safer’: French Woman’s Bold Statement Sparks Online Clash
A conversation between Nigerian YouTuber Pascal Olaleye and a French woman living in India has gone viral, drawing mixed reactions from people online. The discussion, posted on YouTube and Instagram, touched on safety, stereotypes, and the realities of life in India as a foreigner.
Pascal Olaleye, who moved to India three years ago and now runs a business with his friends, often shares videos about life in the country. In his latest post titled, “She Left France for India… here’s why”, he sat down with a French woman to discuss her experience. The woman, a teacher by profession, has been living in India for the past two years.
In the video, the woman talks about what it has been like for her since moving to India. She mentioned that she is currently based in Rajkot, Gujarat. While she enjoys her life in India, she made it clear that she does not plan to stay forever. “I don’t want to be bound by geography,” she said, explaining her plans to move elsewhere in the future.
During the conversation, Olaleye asked her about common misconceptions foreigners have about India. According to her, one of the biggest stereotypes is about safety. “People in France think India is unsafe,” she said, adding that her experience has been different.
Olaleye then posed a direct question: “Are you saying France is not as safe as India? India is safer than France?” To this, she replied, “Yes.”
While she spoke positively about India’s safety, the woman also admitted that her relationship with the country is complex. She described it as a “love-hate” relationship, saying, “The reason I love India sometimes also becomes the reason I hate it.” She did not go into specifics but hinted at certain challenges in her daily life.
The video quickly gained attention on social media, with users debating her views. Some people agreed with her, sharing their own positive experiences in India. Others criticized her, with a few calling her “delusional” for claiming that India is safer than France.
