Pune: A group of tourists sustained injuries when bees attacked them during their visit to Rajgad Fort in Velhe taluka on Sunday.

As per the information provided, four tourists are in critical condition, but prompt action by the administration ensured that all the tourists received medical attention at the fort. The incident occurred between 8.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. on Sunday.

As per the information provided, a group of sixteen tourists from Mumbai and Pune had come to visit Fort Rajgad. Four men and women sustained excessive bee stings, and their condition is reportedly critical, while the other tourists suffered minor injuries.

The archaeology department informed that the bees attacked the tourists due to the perfume they had sprayed. The critical individuals have been identified as Shubham Sawant, Rohit Sharma, Hina Patel, and Apoorva Deshmukh, residents of Mumbai.

Upon receiving the report of the incident, the Pune control room alerted the local administration, which took swift action. Immediately, police reached the scene, and with the assistance of the archaeology department, the injured were treated as a medical team was called to the fort.

Speaking to Pune Govind Langute, Velhe, RFO added, ‘After the bee attack, injured tourists were treated at the primary health center after getting down from the fort. The police and archaeological department immediately reached the scene and called the medical team for their checkup. We urge tourists not to spray fragrances on their bodies or clothes while visiting forts; it might result in bee attacks.”
