10,000 Vehicles Equipped with HSRP Plates in Two Days. You Can Also Apply by Following These Steps

In Maharashtra, approximately 1.25 crore vehicles registered before 2019 will be fitted with High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP). The state transport department (RTO) has made the installation of HSRP mandatory for all vehicles registered before 2019. This implementation began on January 7, and within the first two days, around 10,000 vehicles have already been equipped with the plates, according to officials.
To streamline the process, the state RTO has divided Maharashtra into three zones and appointed separate agencies for each zone. Zone 1 includes 12 RTO offices, Zone 2 covers 16 offices, and Zone 3 comprises 27 RTO offices. Vehicle owners have been given a deadline of March 31, 2025, to get the plates installed by the designated agencies.
