Building on last year’s world record for the longest line of cyclists, this year’s event surpassed its own benchmark. The atmosphere in Bhosari resembled the grand spiritual gatherings at Prayagraj’s Kumbh Mela. From 5 AM, Bhosari was buzzing with activity, and the rally began with the waving of a saffron flag by dignitaries. Participants covered distances of 5, 15, and 25 kilometers, promoting an environmental movement within the city.

Organized annually and free of charge, the Indrayani River Cyclothon marks its 9th edition this year, themed around traffic rules and road safety. Participants were provided with T-shirts, medals, and refreshments.

Inspirational Participation by Differently-Abled Individuals

This year, the participation of differently-abled individuals was a key highlight, adding an inspirational touch to the event. The event also showcased glimpses of the municipal corporation’s “Purple Jallosh” program. Gratitude towards the Indrayani River was expressed through a ceremonial Ganga Aarti. A pledge was made to implement initiatives to restore the river’s former glory through citizen awareness and the Indrayani River Improvement Project. The event also featured Zumba dance performances, with MLA Mahesh Landge and other dignitaries enthusiastically participating.

“River conservation is vital for the well-being of our city. When citizens, social organizations, and representatives come together for such initiatives, the city’s health improves.
